We’re excited to bring Hatch Labs to #BlogHer16 in Los Angeles. Last year was the first time we gave Generation Z their own programming at BlogHer annual, and it was a great experience for us and the kids. On Friday, we held hands-on workshops focused on Back to School: Learning to Lead for about 25 kids ages 8-16. You can check out the photos here.

This was all inspired by our Hatch program at SheKnows Media, where we provide teens and tweens a forum to discuss media literacy, digital citizenship, and social issues. These conversations are our way to create impactful digital content that empowers and educates the next generation of leaders. The content we create together is meant to be a window into the experiences of these digital natives and a springboard for grown-ups to approach topics like micro-aggressions, party culture, gender stereotypes, feminism and more at home with their own teens and tweens.
This year we’ll be expanding our workshop to span both Friday and Saturday. The theme? LA Stories.
Drawing inspiration from our host city, we’ll have one day focused on movie-making using all sorts of gadgets and the next day we will step away from technology and get our “om” on with a day dedicated to meditation and wellness. Both days will be supervised by our staff and #HatchKids Ambassadors.
