Hi everyone...welcome to The Wrap!

The Wrap: Week Ending April 1, 2016
The Wrap is a weekly summary of conference related stories, updates, and announcements. We'll be sharing this wrap up every Friday and we look forward to hearing your comments, questions, and feedback. You will notice I said "we" instead of "I." That is because there could be weeks where someone else from the Conferences Team writes this wrap up, but you can be sure we'll be keeping you up to date on Fridays.

Let's start with #BlogHer16 in Los Angeles, shall we?

The Wrap: Week Ending April 1, 2016

This week we wrapped up (see what I did there?) our conference programming tracks in Lucrecer's post: #BlogHer16 Programming: The Big Reveal. This post is a wonderful summary of the sessions on tap and the speakers who will be participating. [Note: some speakers are still being finalized so keep an eye out for updates].

The Programming Team worked through hundreds of submissions and fine tuned all the amazing ideas into the sessions noted in Lucrecer's post - I encourage you to have a look.

In addition to the Big Reveal, we started our internal planning for a big announcement coming in the next 10 days - oh, there I go, vague-posting. Nope, can't tell you yet but I promise, it's big! If you aren't getting our newsletters, this is a perfect reason to sign up - did I mention it's a big announcement?

If you aren't already registered for #BlogHer16 in Los Angeles, there is no time like the present!

Let's move on to #BlogHerFood16...

The Wrap: Week Ending April 1, 2016

First things first, our Call for Ideas/Speakers ends on Monday, April 4! Yep, that means no late submissions - get those ideas in now :-) Once again, Lucrecer has detailed what you can expect at #BlogHerFood16 in Austin, Texas so chop chop (I did it again!) and get those submissions in!

Next, you will want to book your hotel room soon. We have a limited block of rooms and they will go fast and you don't want to be left with the prevailing rate which is climbing to north of $400. Here is the hotel registration link for your convenience.

Did I say registration? Yep, I did. Here is the registration link so you can grab that conference ticket before they are all gone.

And finally, a little "behind the curtain" information for you: last week the Events Team took a trip to Austin, it's something we do before every conference, we go to the venue, have meetings, take photos and talk about the conference. This trip was no different except (drum roll please)...we found out that by the time we arrive in October the Austin Hilton will have been completely renovated and it's going to be sooooo pretty. The hotel rooms have already been completed and when I say it's tech friendly I mean it's tech friendly. Lots of outlets, USB plugs built into the nightstand, on both sides! I nearly died and went to charging heaven. We are very excited to welcome you to Austin and can't wait to eat, laugh, and say ya'll, a lot.

Until next time...
